Is anyone still waiting to hear from Northwestern? From the messages on this forum, it sounds like I'm pretty much the only one left :-(

nope, I'm here waiting. Keep up the hope.

I was waiting, since my school takes a really long time to prepare final transcripts, but I sent a letter to the admissions department yesterday rescinding my application. I was accepted to UChicago and would rather go there.

:( As a waitlisted Chicago student, that makes me sad.

I was only able to send my transcript last Monday, so I'm still waiting too.

why do u want to leave bard, chimaera?

I really hope you get into one or both, jacknjill...

Although I'm not 100% sure I'm leaving Bard yet, the reasons I decided to apply to transfer in the first place were 1) lack of a developed Middle Eastern studies department, 2) its isolated, rural environment, 3) the lack of political diversity on campus, 4) the administration's disconnection from the study body, as well as some others.

Chicago's urban environment, diversity, Middle Eastern studies (and comparative literature!) department, and distance away from home were of considerable appeal, especially at the time.

I'm still waiting on Northwestern as well. Someone said in the housing thread that the transfer housing site opens on July 5, so hopefully we'll all hear by then, although I've heard it can be up to "late July" before they let you know. For the most part it seems like people are finding out about a month after their application is listed as completed according to their applicant services site.

waiting on USC

I got into Northwestern on June 12! It was completely random...and I have no idea why I heard so early. My acceptance letter is even dated on my birthday. :) I applied last year as a freshman, and it was my all-time dream school! Unfortunately, I was rejected. But now....woohoooo!!!!!!! It's about damn time I get in. haha...! To those who are still waiting, I wish you soooo much luck! I hope you all get in. And when you do...please join the Transfers '06 group I made on facebook, because I am the only one. haha!

Also still waiting on NU.

Also...just to let people know. The Northwestern acceptance letter hasn't changed. The outside of the packet says "Congratulations! Northwestern." What's funny is that I woke up on Monday THINKING I'd hear that day. Soooo...I called the admissions office and they said that I wouldn't probably hear until the end of June...July 4th at the latest. They ALSO said that decisions won't be posted online...so for everyone who checks the applicant services page 450 times a day like I did, it's not worth the future arthritis in your right hand. I don't know if this info relieves any of your minds or answers any of your questions, but I hope it helps! My fingers will remain crossed.

Wow, thanks for replying everyone. It's good to hear I'm not the only one, but I guess we're all stuck in the same bad position of not knowing...

dontcareforthis...what are your stats?

I dont like to release "stats" because I don't feel like people should define other people based on numbers and listed accomplishments. All I can basically say is that I really put heart and soul (pardon the cliche) into my app, and that's all that really matters. To be honest, I didn't even break 1300 on my SATs...nor did I come from an amazing college. I did work hard tho...I received a 4.0 my first year, taking 18 credit hours each semester. In the end, this all really doesn't matter...

i called northwestern just now and they told me my application was still under review... I turned it in late february and my final transcripts were submitted May 16..... so it has been almost five weeks since my application was completed and still no decision.

yeah mine was completed may 19th...still no word....

Mine was completed June 15th...so I will probably be amongst the last that will hear from them. But I don't think they will pull a uchicago and not go by their original statements saying that we will hear no longer than July 4th.
