I was wondering if AP US history is a hard class and if im taking that, ap Calculus and AP bio , if it would be too much work Any suggestins would be nice!

Nobody can answer that question except for you. You know how much work you can handle. You'd probably be better off asking people who've taken AP US History at your school in the past how the class has gone for them, because we don't know how difficult your school really is.

But for what it's worth, I'm taking AP US History, AP Calc BC, AP Physics, AP Psych, and AP Engish Language right now though. It's not that bad.

I take AP US History, though I have a few friends that do. A lot of it depends on your school, your willingness to study, your teacher, and your grasp on the topic. Like my school is hard in it, 20+ pages reading everynight with two essays a week and an in-class essay once a week. From who I've talked to at various schools, that's a trend around here. The teacher that teaches it at our school has taught it for a while and goes to Texas every year to grade the AP US History essay, so he knows what he's talking about and what graders look for. Plus, he's a good teacher in general. So, it has a lot to do with how you take to work and what you think you can handle.

Also, it helps to have a little bit of history god/dess in you.

Well, obviously the difficulty of the class can vary quite a bit, but from my experience the test itself is pretty easy. If you have been doing above average work in your previous history classes, you should be fine.

Yeah it definently depends. There's a sophomore at our school who's been captain of the academic history team since freshman year, and he still got a B in that class...and he's the best at history. In our school, the class is really hard, and anyone will tell you not to take it. Right now I'm doing it and I hate it and I'd drop it if I could. I'm gonna be screwed when it's AP test time. I'm not good at history and I don't like it..I don't know why I took the class :(

Our APUSH class is a complete pushover... I have a 97 without having really taken notes, much less studying. Unfortunately this means I'll have to study on my own for the AP exam, seeing as we don't actually learn that much in class.

I loved that class, it wasn't that hard except for our book which was hard to understand at times. I got an A but with a lot of studying and note-taking. It's not too bad.

You should be fine taking AP US.

I take APUS, also....it isn't necessarily easy, but if you study, you should be fine. I have had a 97 for the first two terms....but then again only one other kid in my class got an A...

Depends. I had an 89 final avg. and I ended up getting a 5. 6/8 students in our class got 5s, one got a 4 and one got a 2 - so our class was awesome!

I didn't find AP US Hist very hard. I had an awesome teacher and we had a lot of fun in class. I had a 90 avg & got a 5. Its just a lot of memorizing facts etc. - If you like history you shouldn't have a problem.

i'm taking ap euro and ap american history at the same time. i find that european history is more complex so naturally, the euro class is a bit harder than apush, although my apush teacher assigns more work.

I don't think it's hard, but maybe that's because I'm really interested in U.S. history. (Unlike AP Euro...zzzz. Self-studied that one, though, so I can't compare the actual classes.)

ap us history is soooo easy as compared to other history ap's (I've taken them all and gotten 5's) largely because there is a larger group of people who take the exam and so the curve is better

oh, but I got a 4 on ap euro in my sophmore year

as an example of how easy it is... Last year I was studying like mad for all my other ap's and didnt study that much for ap us history(4 hours) ... on the test there was an essayabout the civil war. I remeber mixing up some of the key terms such as the lecompton and crittendon proposals and other things but i still got a 5. take the exam... it is really easy

Is it cold in ND in February? Yes of course an AP class will be challenging but in the end it will be worth it. I wish my school had APs.

your school doesnt offer APs? wow
but to the OP's question, i must say that depends totally on you. if you like history and are willing to do some work, then go for it. i think chanllenges can be rewarding in the end. and find out more about the apush teacher, get a idea how the class is conducted.

ehh i thought it was hard...our teacher gave us DBQ's(document based questions) and im not the best essay writer in the world. But her notes and teaching was awesome. wel...i got a B though

even if you aren't a history buff you still should take at least one AP History unless the subject kills you. first off, it makes you a more efficient inclass essay writer.

Well in my school, history is all right. US is pretty easy itself because it focuses on one country (not like world or euro). Essays are pretty easy to ace, and the DBQ's are easy to figure out. Tests = memorize!!! My teacher assigns a lot of work, but it's doable. I mean, history is not my forte, but I got a 5 on the AP Euro. Our teachers are freaking awesome at what they do. My teacher dressed up as a Civil War soldier and did a presentation. Haha. Just work hard you'll get it.

haha, that reminds of my euro class, my teacher dressed up as Jan Hus (czech martyr) and gave a little monologue. then she forced everyone else to give monologues.
