I will be applying to the UC’s next fall. I am not going to major in art, but I have taken many art classes. Can I send in a portfolio or something? How much will this help me on my apps.?
<p>It certainly can be considered an EC... especially if you describe taking classes, etc. That shows lots of initiative and hunger for learning (even if it is art). Don't send a portfolio unless your stuff is top-notch though.</p>

<p>My sisters art work was very influential in getting her into Harvard and Yale.</p>
<p>I don't think UCs will let you send stuff but definitly list it. I put down writing for one of my ECs because I spent time writing part of a book over the summer and I wanted to list it. go for it ;)</p>
<p>I don't think UC's take supplemental materials.</p>
