Is Boston College a good school for communications/english/spanish majors?

I'm a current high school senior and I want to study communications possibly as my major. I'm an English person also, and I also want to study Spanish. I was wondering if BC would be a good choice because it offers a strong Communications program. I also know a student there who is a Spanish minor and I've talked to some other people who also have this as a minor and I was wondering if this is a good fit for me.

Some of the other schools I've applied to are USC, NYU, BU, LMU, etc.

Something I also want to do in college is travel abroad to Spain, and I like doing volunteer work and I know BC really emphasizes the idea of community service so that's another reason why I like the school.

You can travel abroad from BC. The communications program is one of the most prestigious in the country but it is also very difficult to get into.

Good luck.

I know BU is good and has one of the more prestigious communications programs in the country. But looking briefly online its tough to find much showing that BC has a top program. It does looks like they focus on Mass Communication though if that is more of an interest. For English programs BU is ranked #46 and BC is ranked #58. UVA, Northwestern, Indiana, and Syracuse are schools that have good communications and english programs.

At the end of the day, you’re getting a degree from the university. No one considers BU better than BC in any program. You’ll see that pretty quick once you enter the real world and start applying for jobs.
