a lot of ppl have been telling me that cal poly is a nerd and geek school? is that true?
i always thot cal poly was full of parties and hot girls…
any comments??

It’s a well-rounded school from what I know, not just math/science geeks. It’s not what you’d consider a “party school,” either, and I hope you’re not interested just because you thought that. =/

i was drawn to slo because it was a combination of both. lots of chill / relaxed kids. large population of nerds (slo is big on engineering). but also lots of parties i heard and a great college campus / experieince. with that many people in a college / town, you can find anything that you’re interested in.

im a prospective student, but im pretty sure im right.

on ************** they give cal poly an A- for girls, which is fairly high. the weathers nice there, and the outdoors are big, and with 15000 students there will deff be a lot of hot girls haha

however, if you really want that party / hot girl atmosphere go to sdsu, asu, or ucsb.

cal poly has a good ballance… from my limited understanding…

My son is a freshman in aerospace engineering and his assessment synchs with LSkaiWalk. A big determinant of where you are on the party meter is which dorm you select and there are lots on threads in this forum on that subject. Personal observation from this DOM is that the female population is outstanding.

im a freshman this year and i know people that party thursday friday and saturday every week. there are definitely a lot of parties, you just have to know the right people. The girls are really good looking and i compare them to UCSB since i have seen both they are nearly the same.
