I've always felt one of Cornell's great strengths is that it does not pander to the superficial race for highest scores. It has maintained its vision for seeking the best students with the most potential for each particular discipline. </p>
<p>For some fields, that may require high test scores. For others, the ability to test well means nothing in the real world and therefore means very little to admissions. That takes a lot of fortitude in this era of rankings and the impact they have a school's finances. For example, architecture is usually considered the best in the nation and is highly competitive to get into, but has the lowest test scores of any of the colleges of Cornell.</p>
<p>It's a cliche, but the easiest school to get into is the one that fits you best. That's about it.</p>
