Compared to the other schools at Cornell University, is the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences more or less selective?
I’d die if i could study Sustainability Sciences there
And should i apply early to increase my chances? Also, is ED binding?
Every school at Cornell is becoming more selective. Thus, it’s kind of hard to compare it against itself. ED seems to help out applicants’ chances. It most definitely is binding, so make sure it’s the right fit for you. Good luck!
Study the CALS website and the Cornell admissions website carefully. Look at the profile for the class of 2018. ED is binding so apply ED only if you match up well with the current students.
CALS requires a CALS essay that is read by CALS faculty. The essay should show that you understand how CALS is different than other colleges and why you are a good fit at CALS.
Most CALS students took challenging math and science courses in high school such as AP calculus, AP chemistry, and AP biology.
Request an alumni interview and show why CALS is a good fit for you.
@alanhouston Thanks! Trust me, I’ve done my research. my stats are not up to par with most CALS students but I have a hook and a story that may make up for it. I want to apply ED because CALS is the only top school with my major.
@0br0123 I also had a hook and a story. My stats were WAY out of the ball park. I got a GT to CALS. Ya never know
