Is chegg.com (book rental company) reliable?

Do check Chegg when it comes time to sell those books though! They don’t take all titles but generally pay much more than the bookstores and, since they pay shipping (you print a UPS label) and deduct no fees, it’s often quicker, cheaper, and easier than selling on Amazon/Ebay, etc. You can choose to get paid via paypal or get a (higher amount) Chegg credit. Do a search for coupon codes online to get a $5 bonus.

If you go to BigWords.com and have the ISBN numbers of the books you need, that site will scour the internet looking for the lowest price. It looks on Amazon, alibris, Barnes & Noble, Half.com, etc. It also looks up textbook rentals, like Chegg, but you can turn them off if you’d rather buy outright.

I’ve used BigWords for three years and it’s fantastic. I’ve saved hundreds of dollars. One text books was $200 in my school’s bookstore and I got a copy for $7.

I’ve tried out a few different book comparison websites and found [Get Textbooks | New Textbooks | Used Textbooks | College Textbooks - GetTextbooks.com](http://www.gettextbooks.com/) to be the best one out there. It’s quick, groups by new/used/rent and for some reason seems to grab more comparisons than other sites.

chegg is the best I have used it for several semesters now I use this coupon everytime to save an extra 5% off my order CC127509

D1 (who is quite frugal about her books, since she is reponsible for her own book expenses) has used Chegg for the past 3 semesters, and says it is great. She has never returned a book late (I see one user who had a bad experience above who apparently returned the books late). She said they send her reminders. She definitely recommends it.

I always check chegg, but so far have always found a new or used cheaper on amazon or half.com. I then relist them and sell them at the end of the term. This past term, I was able to purchase all used books in good shape, and then resell them for within $5-10 of what I paid. With a couple, it was $5-10 more than what I paid.

And here is another discount code for 5% off. Anyone can use and a donation is made to Dance Marathon to support Children’s Miracle Network. The code is SEMINOLE.

I think Chegg is pretty reliable but some people complain that they had to wait for their textbooks.

chegg sucks

I placed an order for a textbook, “Economics Today”, ISBN: 0132948907, order #MGUFXT51. I paid $29.99 + 5.99 shipping. This was to be a rental that I would receive on Monday 9/16/2013. It would be due back by December 20, 2013. In the mean time I was using a temporary eText issued by the Publisher which expires today, 9/20. When I did not receive the textbook I looked online to see what is taking so long only to find that the order was cancelled. I looked for an explanation and the only one I could find was that it could not be sent from their warehouse, but they still offer that book as a rental - only now it costs $88.99 to rent. In other words they decided to change the terms of their agreement. They want me to pay 3 times as much for a service I already agreed to at a lower price. They know that I am required to use a textbook, but unfortunately I can’t afford it. Even if I could, that’s close to the price of a used textbook to buy in the college bookstore. Now I am going to have a MUCH more difficult time getting through the semester. Sure, I can follow along in class, but I have no book to read. All because CHEGG.COM decided they wanted more money from me. Even if I find a textbook, that doesn’t help me with the current exam situation. Now, in the mean time, they CLAIM that they refunded the purchase 11 days ago, but I still have not received that refund and I am unable to contact them about that or the issue of the book. (All of their contact forms are down)
