I am currently debating on either finishing CC, or going to Cleveland State this fall due to the dual enrollment option they have. I am curious if it’s a better decision to try to finish and transfer somewhere else, or go to CSU and finish my last 2-3 years there.
But I heard from multiple people that CSU is overshadowed by Case Western Reserve, whether it’s internships, clinical, etc. CSU will always be the last choice compared to Western Reserve.
I have had interns from both CWRU and from CSU. The person who eventually rose in the ranks in my company to become my second-in-command was a CSU grad. Cleveland is a friendly place. It is not difficult to get access to hiring managers - few people get shut out. You can usually at least get a conversation to allow yourself to shine. So, if you are a solid candidate, regardless of where you went to school, doors will be open for you in Cleveland. More important to do well where you land than anything else.
Since you mention clinicals I am wondering what field you are interested in? Cleveland State is very strong in the allied health fields. CWRU would be better with research and the potential of getting into science grad fields. If you are interested in DPT or PA or OT schools then I think CSU would be just as good as CWRU, however, if your interested in pursuing a Phd then CWRU would have an advantage.
CSU isn’t that expensive or Tri-C, my mom can pay for with without taking out any loans. But we’re just trying to see if we take out just $1000 dollars from the government how that system would work and would it be worth it just to take $1000 dollars that we’ll pay off the next year.
Actually I have no interest in Case to be honest, I just was curious about Case overshadowing CSU because I was reading how Case Western students were the first to get internships and chances at shadowing more so than other kids.
