Gotta say, the extreme negativity expressed by the OP gives me a reason to wonder why he/she posted at all.
If the response to everything is “why should I be happy…what’s the point of anything…why do I need to be positive?” one has to wonder if perhaps the OP isn’t doing a research project or is otherwise bored.
But, I’ll offer up an answer: You’re here, and you exist. Why not be happy?
If you can’t understand that simplest of ideas, go see someone who can help you understand why.
You seem to have an answer for every piece of advice/commentary that anyone has offered so far, and it seems like it will be very difficult for you to get back on track if you refuse to take anyone’s advice into consideration for even a moment. I’m not sure what you’re wanting to hear, but I think you need to at least consider what everyone is telling you.
It sounds like you are either depressed or have had your spirit knocked down considerably. Either way, you really need to seek out help wherever you can find it. There are resources available to you, especially if you remain in school. You need to be proactive seek them out.
" I also think happiness is a clear delusion and illness."
You seem to be playing an “I dare you” game which entails your requesting advice and then shooting down the advice you are given in grand fashion. Sort of an “I dare you to come up with even one idea I’ve not already thought of.” And since you are certain that you’ve tried it all and, anyway, you know positive affect is just hidden negative affect, there really isn’t any way for anyone to be helpful.
But being so sure isn’t making you happy. Maybe you should try being less certain and realizing you probably don’t know quite as much as you think you do and you probably have not tried everything being suggested, at least not with the goal of succeeding. Stop shooting down every suggestion you are given. Instead, read each one and consider how you can force it to work.
Also, just because I don’t want to college and don’t know what to do in life, it doesn’t mean I have depression. Not wanting to go college because I have no interests has nothing to do with depression.
@mamaedefamilia I don’t know but college material is extremely abstract compared to previous years. I don’t even know what to do in college, let alone in trade school. I don’t think it fits me.
@Lindagaf What do research projects have to do with anything here? I’m also not saying these things because I am bored. I really mean it. Also, just because I exist, it doesn’t mean I have to be happy. I have the right to be negative.
@coco55 The counselor advice is already repeated everywhere. No need to say anything else here.
@lostaccount The general society thinks they know everything, but they clearly know nothing at all. I’m also reading everything here, I don’t know how I’m being ignorant in this case. Why can’t people think that happiness is always not a “good” thing for once?
Clearly college is not for you and that’s ok. lots of people don’t go to college for one reason or another. Someone mention the military. You can look into that to see if that is something you want to do. There is also Job corps. Which is a hands on job training program.
