I’m a sophomore in college and I’m a Communications major at Georgia State University and my major focuses on Public Relations, Journalism, and advertising. I have interest in the field of public relations. Is Communications a major that will lead to great job opportunities ? I don’t want to be one of those college graduates drowning in debt. Also I am thinking about minoring in business. Is Public Relations a good career path? I know that I love to write, communicate with people, I’m always keeping up with the latest media and current news stories. I love to do research and meet to people. Everyone around me said that Communications is a terrible degree and I should major in business even though I have no interest in it because it is a more stable major. Or are their other non stem majors that fit my interests that are better?
People always seem to have an idea that any humanities major is “useless” which isn’t necessarily true. However, if you are having doubts and have been considering business, you could always double major or minor.
