I have a little problem right now. I’m going to be finished with my GE classes this semester at my community college and I’m transferring to a 4 year in the fall, possibly. I don’t have a major and I really don’t have any I’m considering. I was looking at Computer Science and from what I read it can be pretty hard. I don’t have ANY experience in programming/coding/or anything technical. Is Computer Science hard if you don’t have any sort of experience going into it? I also know that you have to take a bunch of math classes. I got an A in stats but I know I have to take calculus classes and I am good at math but I don’t obviously prefer it too much but I can do it to some extent. I’ve been going to a community college for 2 1/2 years and I haven’t started any prerequisite classes for any major so I’m also wondering if I went down this road of computer science, how long do you think it will 1. take me to begin my actual major classes and 2. to be completely finished with this major.
For those who are good at following the logical side of math, it can be a very easy major. Past that, it’s just a matter of style and learning a few tidbits about machines and how you can organize data.
You can probably start CS classes right away, at least the introductory sequence. Some community colleges have one.
