Is Cornell really the "hardest IVY to get out of?"

This is a pretty funny thread, but why did simbajune get called out?

It is also a pretty old thread… 3 and a half years

Wow. To think that gomestar and monydad were on here well before my time.

CR’05 — I always look forward to your comments =]

hah hah ha… Cornell is well known in my country and southeast asia as the EASIEST ivy to get into. It’s not special at all to have graduated from Cornell in my country. Especially for eng and or economics. You won’t receive a wow or anything like that, just a shrug.

I lived in HK before and I totally disagree with you raison

How legit is it to compare Cornell’s overall stats with other private universities when part of the institution is public? Very curious about this.

Two things to note:

– A lot of private colleges don’t have programs in architecture, agriculture, or hotel administration. These programs are the best in the word, but don’t attract a high number of students, so they will naturally have lower SAT scores, etc.

– Cornell gets a lot of funding from the state. Private colleges do not. This means that Cornell’s ‘financial resources’ are more than just its endowment. If you impute the value of NYS funds into an endowment equivalent, it would probably add $3 B to Cornell’s endowment.

CayugaRed2005: Thanks for the information. Makes very good sense. Being a numbers person, it just really bothers me when people don’t compare apples to apples. Kind of you to respond.
