I know a lot of schools will let you design your major and I wondering if anyone knew if MHC was one of them. I love costuming, I've been doing it for years, and even teach it locally. I almost attended an Institute of Costuming, but due to financial reasons and a desire to receive a slightly more well rounded education I decided to go with Holyoke instead. I've checked out the course catalogues and with the consortium agreement I'd easily be able to cobble enough classes together to fulfill the major requirement. However, would it even be possible to do this???

There are definitely students who create their own majors. Unfortunately my costuming roommate is asleep so I don’t know for sure, but I think Vanessa James is the person you should contact.
Good luck!

Thanks, I did the Experience MHC, and ended up speaking Vanessa James for a few hours… If the costuming room-mate ever wakes up ask her how she likes it!

Yep! I’m doing it, and lots of my friends are as well. Unlike most colleges, a lot of faculty here actually encourage it because it’s such a rewarding experience.
