Is CS70 without Math 1B possible?

Hi, during spring Tele-bears my roommate told me that CS 70 didn't really need Math 1B to succeed (this was during a time when we were both looking at classes for being Cog Sci majors). In the end I Tele-beared CS 70 and she did Math 55. Now that the syllabus has come out I am worried that the course may be really hard for me since it says to have a solid background in Math 1B. I've only taken 1A so I'm scared I may be doomed to fail before I even start.

I'm wondering if CS 70 uses heavy material from 1B, and what are the possibilities of getting a good grade in CS 70 without having any experience in Math 1B.
Has anyone been in this situation?

Help please!

Calculus will be used in the later part of CS 70 for continuous probability theory. You may want to take a look at the notes and assignments from recent past CS 70 courses to see what may be used.

Definitely possible since the continuous probability is not quite emphasized (that may depend on the professors). However, you should take a look at the notes and see if you can get used to the material. From my point of view, the continuous probability in CS70 do not really require you to know MATH1B.
