I just now got online and saw my S had been accepted with a Benjamin Rush award.
He also got a couple of loans which I know need to be repaid.
My question is about the Dickinson grant. Is this like a merit award or does this have to be repaid?

Yes, I understand the Benjamin Rush is merit aid. But I was asking about the Dickinson Grant which is separate from the Benjamin Rush award (and which is also bigger). It is part of the financial package that my S received.

The grants do not need to be repaid. They are usually part of the need based financial aid. Unlike the Rush Scholarship, the amount of the grant may change in future years based on your family’s income.

My daughter dot a merit scholarship and also the Dickinson grant. The Dickinson Grant is part of your financial aid package and it is in addition to the merit scholarship. The Dickionson grant does NOT have to be repaid. Only financial aid that clearly states “loan” would have to be repiad. The grants do not. Hope this helps!
