I’m a high school senior hoping to attend USAFA. I already have a congressional nomination from Colorado and have almost every form finished for application… Except my DoDMERB physical. It seems that I may have an inguinal hernia. However, it is not very noticeable and I have no detrimental symptoms, and haven’t ever before from it. Will I be permanently disqualified or can I get a waiver and still be appointed to this years incoming class? They may not even notice it at all, so should I keep it to myslf and have it fixed later? I definitely would be upset if i even had to wait to get in over something that isnt hindering me. Any advice helps. Thanks!
You have time for the waiver. The deadline is quite a while but the sooner the better. And no if they dq then you’d want to either post your personal doctors’ approval or notes or complaint. And the academy to my knowledge wouldnt invest in someone who could possibly be a liability. I am a senior going through the waiver process (I don’t think I’m competitive enough) but I’ve talked to alot of people at dodmerb and a couple ALOs. Good luck.
