I never laid my hands on a Dr.Chung’s book or prep. book infact, and I score about 750 consistently in Math. However, what I did lay my hands on, was a good load of practice exams, and the BB.

Practice is what you need really, whether it’s from real SAT books, or Dr Chung’s, or any other reliable material.

^ I agree with SirWankalot. It is practice that gives one great scores.

I do have the book and will say that it is great for brushing up! It also has 20 practice tests so besides the BB, this would be good material to use for practicing math.

Good Luck :)

I bought it, but I don’t recommend it. It is horrible if you just want to get high score without learning how to do convoluted math problems that never appear on the SAT.
Summary: Don’t Buy It

P.S. I’m starting to use the “SAT Math Bible” I heard it has really helped people get better scores.

Thank you all first! (:

SirWankalot: I do practice a lot. But I don’t seem to be improving (like I improve by 20 points, but it’s still a 680ish). I was hoping this book may boost it to a 750 or higher?

livelikeali: Haha, I really do want a high score, but I wouldn’t mind learning higher level math. I mean, it’s not like I won’t learn it, might as well learn it while prepping the SATs? ;D

Although livelikeali is entitled to his/her belief, I respectfully beg to differ that Dr. Chung teaches excess and unneeded math tips. From what I have gathered, the book seems to teach many solutions that will appear on the SAT. In addition, while the “50 tips” are useful, the real worth of the book lies in its 20 practice test. My suggestion would be only to buy this book if you need extra practice. ~ Hope this helps :)

Legatus, that is not correct. While the 50 tips might be helpful for some, the practice tests suffer from the same deficiencies as the many other authors who are trying to emulate the SAT but end up with irrelevant and misleading drivel.

As a rule of thumb, when you hit the third typo, return the book. It shows a total lack of editing and … respect for the buyer.

Well I’ll be ordering from amazon and it’s very complicated to return it (in fact, it probably cost more to return it than to just keep it and suffer).

So I guess Dr.Chung isn’t as amazing as everyone says it is? or something?

Ouch

Dr. Chung’s book is excellent and is definitely worth $27. When I first started taking practice SATs I was consistently stumped by the last few difficult questions on the math sections. After taking about 7 of Dr. Chung’s practice tests, I started to recognize how to approach the problems. In my opinion, the best way to prepare for the SAT (specifically the math sections) if you’re already good at math is to do hard practice problems over and over again, which his book definitely provides. It will completely prepare you for the first 2/3 of the section and then enable you to tackle the super hard problems. Buy it!

Thank you hermione! (:
Any other opinions?
