Significant difference in Penn/Duke admissions is ED%. Penn fills nearly half its class ED. Duke's class is less than a third ED.

Keep in mind that Duke wins every year among cross-admits to Duke and Penn almost 65/35. At Duke, practically every other person chose it over Penn. This doesn't mean it is better than UPenn, but it definitely means they are comparable institutions. I'll leave it at that.

Man, I love you Upenners. This topic was potential flamebait and you all handled it professionally/cordially.

GO QUAKERS!!!!!!

(even though I'm a Blue Devil lol)

Incollege, where do you get these cross-admit stats. I am curious to see the numbers for other places, can you pm it to me or provide it??

I'd like to see stats too. It is very easy to make such claims.

And even with the claimed 65% yield with Penn cross-admits, Duke's overall yield is a mere 40% to Penn's 60%.

I'll take Penn or Duke any day. I live in a state (Texas) where everyone here thinks Texas A&M, LSU, and Oklahoma U are all Ivy League schools.
God, I can't get to the Northeast fast enough.

Hey, in my area, Duke takes less people than Penn, but I think thats because Penn favors Pennsylvanians slightly; however, most of these kids are college or engineering, not Wharton business college.

Also, Duke doesn't admit that many kids ED compared to Penn

in my school, its the opposite, Duke admitted around 8-10 kids total from my class of 200 kids (I was one of them) in a competitive public school and Penn only 1 (regular decision and none ED).
