Is econ the right choice

Im a sophomore at the University of Colorado and currently majoring in economics. To start my career I want to work for an investment bank. I know going to one of the target schools makes landing an internship much easier, but i wanted to know how i stand. I currently have a 3.6 GPA and plan on graduating with honors. Most of my courses have been more math and economic molding. I am also a member of the econ club. Outside of school I volunteer for an aids foundation and have had a lab tech position at a biotech for 3 years (plan on keeping it though undergrad). Is there more I should/could be doing?

Improve your GPA. Start networking.

Major in Finance instead.

In my experience, there’s no benefit to majoring in finance instead of econ
