According to college *******, both girls and guys at Colby are super hot. This, for me, is kind of intimidating. Is it true?

From my observations, it’s a really good-looking group of kids. In a totally healthy, natural, outdoorsy way. Not a place where you see lots of made-up young women, high heels, or fashion choices that would turn heads on a Saturday night in Boston or NY. Students are sophisticated enough to get that scene and pick up on the look for certain parties, but they know they’re in Maine. LL Bean rules for everyday. Students don’t look like they’re trying too hard (even if they are) but look really good, mostly because of being athletic, in great shape, and maybe because of eating the great, healthy food at the college. One of the few places I’ve ever gone in the US and seen almost no obesity. Some people might find it intimidating…My S would have been intimidated by a college with a NY fashion scene.

I’m a current student. Sailfish hit the nail on the head.

And even better, everyone is as friendly as Colby’s reputation. So no need to be intimidated !

Thanks for the replies. I just went to visit and everyone was really friendly (and completely gorgeous, as was the campus). thinker88, was there a deciding factor for you in choosing Colby? I applied to too many schools to be safe and now I don’t know which to choose; I thought this would be the easy part of the application process.

I chose Colby because of the friendly students and welcoming atmosphere. And that was just as a senior in high school looking in from the outside. Now, looking back as a Junior, I can safely say that this was a fantastic choice. I have tons of great friends and the community here is really full of passionate students who are as involved in what they love as I am.
