I'm pretty interested in finance but, I'm not sure what the job outlook is like or what sort of salary I could expect. Also would CIS (Computer Information Systems) be a good minor to complement a finance major?

Thanks.

What’s most important to you? Studying about finance or how big your paycheck is?

It may not make a difference in the end. I would suggest accounting and finance, getting the highest GPA possible and getting all the certifications that you can (CPA, etc) and working to learn until you can build your own business and clientele and become an entrepreneur or start as a consultant at a big accounting firm. Of course, there’s the high finance world of Goldman, Morgan Stanley, etc.

Accounting majors can do many things a finance major can do. CIS and accounting is an excellent pairing and for Big 4 accounting consultancy makes more sense to me than accounting and finance.
