So I got 180(59 CR, 73 Math, 48 WK) as a freshman in Florida and they said I did not meet entry requirements for NMSC's 2015 . Does that mean I lost my only chance at this scholarship or can I still take it in junior ? Also, if a freshman scored a high enough score, can he become a semi-finalist ?

No to both questions. You can take the PSAT again later, you didn’t lose your chance, and you can’t win until you take it junior year.

If you got a 180 as a frosh, then you’ll have a very good chance of scoring high enough as a junior.

Only the junior year PSAT counts for the competition.

This assumes you are going to high school for the full standard 4 years. For those graduating early, the rules get a bit more complicated.

Son got 215 as freshman. 230 as junior. Awaiting final word on NMF. Freshman scores are just practice.
