Is getting a double major in Economics and Mathematics the same as getting each separately?

Hey I’m in my HS Senior year and I want to become a businesswoman and a scientist. I want to do a double major in Econ and Math and then go off to grad school and pursue masters in Physics and eventually a Post Graduate Degree. I did some research and found that some universities take students with Math backgrounds for masters in Physics program. I first need a confirmation on that. Secondly, if they do, would a double major with Econ and Math be fine? I mean would I be studying all the courses in Math that somebody doing a Bachelors in Math would? I really need help and I would appreciate any. Thanks in advance. :’)

You have many options. You don’t need to decide now. You could dbl major – and that’d be fine. But if you “simply” remain a Math major and take Econ/finance/accounting classes on the side, your business bona fides will remain intact. Businesses frankly view Math majors with business interests more highly than simple econ/business majors.

But why do you want future degrees? Do you want to teach? You’re placing tons of pressure on yourself at this stage when there is NO reason to do so. Things will become apparent once you’re in the depths of your areas of study.

As stated in your other thread, just major in physics and take math and economics courses of interest.
