Is getting a Seal of Biliteracy worth it?

I’m a bilingual French speaker, so I was wondering if it’s really worth it to get the Seal of Biliteracy for my H.S. transcript. I’ve already taken the CLEP French test and gotten full college credit (79/80 score), so would colleges prefer that I also have the Seal of Biliteracy? I tried contacting the Seal of Biliteracy organization to ask if CLEP scores could be used, but they basically blew me off and told me that I would have to go through my school to get it, even though I’m pretty sure my school has zero experience with this program, since I am literally the only student with a foreign citizenship in my school (ah… the wonder of rural schools in the middle of nowhere). So does anyone have any experience with getting this (and maybe with CLEP)?
Thanks!
Hope you’re having a good day

My son has it but I don’t think it’s important to colleges. He didn’t even mention it anywhere on the application. You can say in your application that you’re bilingual and this should be enough.

My daughter has the seal in Japanese and she didn’t mention it in her application. She did mention having passed the Japanese National Language Proficiency test as she scored really well on it,

Meaningless piece of bling on the diploma. Looks pretty though.

NO use for college applications. CLEP is more important. If there’s a college nearby with advanced courses (300-level) then you should try taking one if you want to do something with your French cultural&linguistic skills.

It was so easy to get in my kids IB HS that it can’t mean a thing. The kids who didn’t get it just didn’t fill in the paperwork.
