Is grad school a good idea?

First of all, hello everyone. My name is Geoffrey and I'm a journalism major (comm major, really, but it's weird how my school sets it up).

Anyways, my question is if grad school is a good idea or even necessary to get a job after graduating college? Can I get a decent job with just my bachelor's degree or do I need a masters or even higher? How high should I go with my education? How soon should I go for the higher degrees?

You should not go to graduate school to get a job. People should go to graduate school if it gives them a higher earning potential (note: not for journalism) or because they are going for their PhD.

Employers value experience > formal education and you should intern and build a portfolio of your work to show you have real experience being a journalist.
