@BeKindRewind:

That's pretty much what you need to take from this thread... sometimes natural smarts will get you through whatever, but at some point, that usually works out. Instead of sinking into an attitude of woe-is-me that Calculus is suddenly a lot tougher than Algebra, you need to accept the fact that Calculus involves much more advanced mathematics and spend that much more time learning the course. Be thankful that you at least understand the foundations, so you can spend your study hours doing something other than playing catch-up.

I totally believe that we grow the most from the experiences that hurt us the most. What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.

Lol, basic algebra was waaaaaay harder than calc, in retrospect (although both were quite easy). I remember not knowing *** was going on with linear equations, and it took me like a day or two to figure them out, and everything since then has been a cakewalk.

Wow Moodrets, thank you for that insightful addition to the thread at hand.

Remember kids, sometimes its better to work hard at something and learn humility rather than always be at the top... it can get lonely up there.

Ahh, no problem, glad to be of service! ;D

A lot of people don't know how to study. I know a few kids who will spend all night studying every little nuance, lose sleep, tank the test, and wonder why all their hard work was wasted.

That's why some people hate Math and Physics while others breeze through it.

@AeroEngineer,

could you elaborate more on your post about why some people suck at physics? your description seems to describe my current situation.

In my present situation I got "C"'s throughout high school math and barely tried on my homework and memorized just the equations, though I usually got A's-B's when I stayed after for help, but now everythings caught up to me since I barely tried beginning with Alegebra.

Being naturally smart isn't all it seems.

I get 90 and 100 on tests without studying but get sub-par grades thanks to homework.
