Is is recomended to get a Bachleors degree first and then apply for pharmay school?

I heard for UoP, you don't really need one, but for other schools its recomended, is this true?

I don't know the exact answer to your queston, but I know there are schools that offer a 6 year PharrmD program which doesn't require a BS/BA. I believe Wisconsin- Madison is one of them.

For any pharm school you can apply to after two years of undergrad. There are 0-6 programs that you apply to out of HS like the one the poster above has mentioned. I'm not sure that you gain an advantage in admissions if you have a bachelors though.

My roommate got his Bachelors, mainly b/c he wanted the full college experience and really loved college. I think he appreciates the extra couple years of maturity over his classmates in his pharm school (he goes to Creighton). He's just a lot more relaxed about things and used to upper level classes since he had to take them to graduate.

There are lots of different options, so you need to find the one that's best for you.

I see, well thanks for the help. I will probably get a BA first so I can be more relaxed as well.

If you want to be a pharmacist, I personally think it is a waste of time and money to get a bachelors degree first. Your time would be better spent after your PharmD degree in getting an MBA or a MHA so that you can move up in your career later on.

Of course, if you want to be more "relaxed", I guess that taking basically the same courses over again would do that. ;) Any 22 year old with a BS degree certainly should be a little more capable than an 18 year old freshman with no college experience. It's just not an efficient use of time and money, IMO.
