if I haven't asked my teacher for a reccomendation yet, and I'm applying EA (Nov 1)?

No, it's not a disaster. The rule of thumb is to give your reviewer about a month before the deadline.

When should you ask your teacher if you are applying regular decision?

more questions:

when you give your teacher the forms, you give them one common app and they photocopy it, or you give them as many as they are supposed to send off??

Also, are colleges really strict on the only 2 reccomendations thing? Or is it no problem if I send 3 instead.

Only send three if the extra recommendation is going to add something new to your application that will ultimately help you. More isn't necessarily better.

It is not at all a disaster. Remember, many high schools are not even in session yet. Many students start senior year a few days after Labor Day and their recs arrive in plenty of time for EA. Just let your teacher know the due date and EA timeline.

It also can depend on the teacher. My AP History teacher, for example, makes us ask him right when school starts back if we want him to write us a rec for RD while a lot of my other teachers are less strict. So long as you are respectful of your teacher's time, everything will be fine.
