Is it a good idea to major in Psychology if you don't want to go to grad school?

Hello, I currently go to Chapman University and I’m a freshmen. My schools offers a BA in psychology. Is it a bad idea to major in Psychology if I don’t want to go to grad school? I was thinking of switching majors to something like business administration or economics since our school has a top business program and I don’t mind just taking one extra year and doing the 4+1 program for an MBA. What jobs would I expect to get with just a BA in psychology with average grades? What minor should I get? I was thinking of minoring in nutrition. I can double minor/major if I wanted.

Sure; I know several psychology majors who are gainfully employed without graduate degrees. You need to make sure that you start thinking about careers early and get internship experience and develop skills, but yes, you can major in psychology and get work after college.

But you can also major in business or economics and get work, too. It really depends on what you want to do.

You don’t have to minor in anything, but you can minor in whatever you want.
