Is it advisable to begin studying for BIOL 180-220

I am yet a junior in high school. Would studying for BIOL 180-220 now help later on? I would enjoy a general assessment of the difficulties of the courses as well as the pace and scope of material covered.

While I have time, I would like to prepare myself adequately for my first year at the UW.

Thank you for your thoughts and opinions.

Never too early to start learning.

Don’t start preparing now.
You’re a junior–you haven’t even gotten into UW yet! Go enjoy life as a high schooler.

Even if OP isn’t at UW yet, or not even 100% certain about admissions (hey, just being safe here, even though I know you’re qualified)… it’ll help in the future. OP is thinking about biochem, right? Pre-req classes are going to be important when applying to the major (unless direct admit, and still it’s important in terms of application to grad school.)

I wish I at least checked out textbooks to see what type of material I should be prepared for before going to UW. Here, I’m up against people retaking classes they got max credit for from AP/IB.

Just remember to enjoy high school. Get some sleep, too :)

Don’t start now. That’s a bit silly, you probably won’t even be in Biol for another couple years. Take AP Bio if you’d like, but have a life in high school, too

Take AP biology at your high school and you will effectively be studying for BIOL 180-220.

Wow… not at all. Only pre-read the material if you’re doing it for fun.

Take AP Bio and don’t worry about learning the material ahead of time. If you weren’t already aware, they do teach you in college.

I am taking AP Bio right now. How much overlap is there between the AP Bio curriculum and the Biol 180-220 curriculum?
