Hello everyone! Although I just joined this form, I have been snooping around for quite some time. Anyways, I have always dream of attending Northwestern. I am currently going into 10th grade. In 9th grade, I finished the year with about a 3.65 GPA with all honors classes. Wow. I admit that I did horrible. I am easily capable of achieving a 4.0, as I did in 8th grade. I know that I can step it up and get all A's my sophomore year, even in AP World History. But now I am worried. Am I already too far behind? I know that I can get the grades, and the test scores, but will these Freshman grades kill me? I am also worried about EC's. Nothing that stands out too much... National Honors Society... Tennis... A Job... I plan on joining more clubs and becoming much more active in the school. I just wanted some opinions on if I am too late... :(. Also, any advice on some more EC's? Thanks!

Well this just shows you need to work on time management, and organization skills. I think you still in the running to go to Northwestern. :D

No worries, you still have a great chance. Yes, you’ll have to pick it up these next three years, but if you do you’ll be alright. Remember also that colleges don’t look at grades alone. Build up an application that stands out. Don’t only join clubs and organizations, but also take on leadership roles and leave your own marks. Another important part of your application will be your ACT score, along with your essays. Work on your time management, make sure your grades go up in an upward trend, and you’ll have a chance of being accepted.
