Is it alright if my Brown PS is under 3500 characters but over 600 words?

The limit is supposed to be 500 words or 3500 characters, but the character limit produces a much higher word count. So is it ok if my essay is under the character limit but extraordinarily higher than the word count?

Just wondering if it will **** off the adcoms or whatever…Thanks.

If it's under 3500 characters, then your words are, on average, 4-5 characters long—meaning that your writing is probably much easier to read than most, and thus the extra few words shouldn't be a problem at all.

Thank you, can anyone else confirm?

Yeah, should be fine.

Great, one last detail. Small detail but important nonetheless.

My essay comes out to be 636 words, 2,979 characters w/o spaces. WITH spaces it comes out to be over 3,600 characters.

Do they consider the character count with spaces or without?

Trivial, I know, but it could make a difference.

[EDIT]Fack, nvm, it does make a difference. Back to the chopping board...

Yes, spaces count as characters, though I'm pretty sure you already realized that...
