Is it appropriate to ask if a college superscores by hand or by machine?

For example Tufts outright says a computer looks at your scores and chooses the highest in each section. This means that superscoring is worth it even if I bomb one of the sections. Other schools I worry are superscored by hand so the person might consider how bad I did on one of the sections rather then considering my 1 point increase.

Is it fine to ask a college’s admissions counselors how they super score? Basically I need to know if anyone who can effect the admissions decisions will see the bad score that got overridden.

Why would you care. If they say they superscore then I think you can trust them to do that. Otherwise they would use more general words like we consider your highest scores while viewing your whole application… Don’t make yourself a wreck by overthinking. And what would you do if they did consider a lower score anyway?

I would absolutely not pester adcoms with a question like that. No good can come of it. None.
