Is it better to give a letter of Rec from a teacher that. . .

Notre Dame only takes 1 teacher recommendation. I am looking to go into Engineering and have my old Acc. Physics teacher writing one letter and my German teacher (who I know really well) write the other.

Would it be better to send the recommendation from the teacher who teaches a math/science or the teacher who knows me better? The Physics teacher does know me, but I think the German teacher is a lot more comfortable writing about me and will give more true insight into my personality. Thanks. (Sorry for the absolutes thread).

Honestly, I would use the German teacher. Though it’s seemingly beneficial to have a teacher in your respective field write the recommendation, one who would write more uniquely and proficiently about you would more than likely create the most memorable, exceptional letter.

Most would argue with me, but I say go for the German teacher. I submitted an English and Science professor for Brown, but I also sent in an extra from my drama teacher just because I knew she’d write a great letter and knew me better.
