Is it easy to transer from Columbia Engineering to Columbia College?

So I'm looking at Columbia, but my chances at Columbia College are extremely low. However, I feel that I would stand a slightly better chance at Columbia Engineering due to their higher acceptance rate and the fact that my high school schedule has been very math and science heavy. The thing is, I eventually want to study business. I'd most likely apply to be an applied mathematics major at Columbia Engineering or else I'd apply as an econ major at Columbia College. If I did get into Columbia Engineering, is it relatively easy to transfer into Columbia College?

And of course I have a spelling error in my title. I meant transfer, not transer, but I'm sure you guys and gals figured that out.

My cousin did that after a lot of trouble and meeting the dean, but he ended up transferring to Columbia college.... that was 10 years ago though and from my understanding it's getting harder and harder to do that.

It is done, can be done, but they don't advertise it and in public pronouncements they make it sound difficult, but it is not. Do it quietly when you get in.

I was recently at an information session where this issue was addressed. The woman said that it was NOT an easy process and you would need to basically go through the application process again.

She basically said that they have noticed the disparity in acceptance rate and strongly discourage anyone else from trying to work the system. I wouldn't try to do so. Though I am sure that yes, it can be done.

Ok, thanks for the input everyone. I guess I'll probably apply to Columbia College and if it's meant to be, then it's meant to be, and if it's not, I'm sure I'll find somewhere that I love that I will be accepted at.

if your chances for cc are "extremely" low, you're not going to get into seas either.
