Is it hard to do economics pre-med at UCSB?

So I want to go into medical school, but I heard that econ at UCSB is very challenging. I have a couple of questions:

1.) Is there a curve in econ classes where like only 6% of students get an A?

2.) Is it hard to get a high GPA as an econ major?

3.) Would it be hard to take Econ classes alongside other classes like introductory Physics and Biology?

4.) Is it okay if I take elementary soccer and basketball at the same time? Your experience with these classes?

Thanks

  1. Yes, it might actually be 6% exactly if I’m remembering
  2. If you make the original pre-major GPA cutoff, you should be able to get a high GPA if you work hard
  3. Yes. Those classes are very difficult in very different ways. You would have to balance your time extremely well.
  4. Those classes are very easy and fun and not much skill level is expected (and obviously, there’s no homework). Could be a great way to get some exercise!
