I heard that Greek life plays a huge role in social life. I am not the type of person who drinks and parties, but I am also not the type of person who studies like crazy and has no social life. I have heard many stereotypes but I don't believe them. If I do not join Greek life, would I be able to fit in? Will I be judged if I am not a part of Greek life? My high school is very preppy and there are many cliques and people care a lot about the different social statuses. Is Vanderbilt like that? Thanks!

Less than half the school is Greek. Greek life is a big part of the Vandy culture but you will not have a difficult part fitting in even if you don’t want to be a part of it.

As Pancaked said, it’s not difficult to fit in at Vandy not being part of Greek life. If you find the right group of people—considering the diversity of people here it won’t be really hard—you will have a great time.

We’re all also noticing the school is getting a little less Greek over time due to administrative restrictions and just less interest from incoming freshman classes.
