According to Payscale Bookkeepers are 90% female and I was wondering would that mean it is harder for a man to become one?
Or is it just less men trying to become Bookkeepers?

Lol definitely fewer men going for it.
There are just fewer men going for this role.
However, if I were you, I would think bigger/slightly differently from bookkeeping. This is a career that’s actually in slight decline, and the industry is projected to lose about 25,000 jobs before 2026. That’s because computer programs do a lot of the work that bookkeepers used to do.
If you’re interested in maintaining financial records for a company, look into accounting instead - much better job prospects. Other roles you can consider are auditor, actuary, financial analyst, and budget analyst.
