Is it harder to get into Olin biz or arts*science

Hey. I was deferred from Cornell Ed and I'm looking at washu for rd. is it tougher to get into business or undecided arts and science. I'm black and I feel that my math skills can serve me better I. Business. I know business schools like people with math skills. I have an 800 in math 2. So is it tougher to get into arts and science or business

Acceptance rates???

I’ve heard that there isn’t an advantage by applying to one school over the other at WashU.

That’s correct. It’s not harder to get into one school than the other.

Just so you know, something like 10% of people who take Math level 2 get an 800.

Yeah I know :frowning:
But at my school average is 690-700

Remember that you aren’t just being compared to kids at your school but also students nationwide.

And since Wash U is comprised mostly of people from the top 10%, it’s likely that at least half of the people here who took the Math 2 SAT II got an 800 on it.

And although admission is to the university, not to each individual college (e.g., Cornell), the Olin B school has some of the highest average SAT in the nation in terms of business schools. I am not discouraging you from applying to WashU, far from it, but you need to develop a good list of reach, match and safety schools. It’s safe to say that, in many instances, getting into WashU is even harder than Cornell!

If Wash U had any athletics? it would’ve been a top 5 for me. That, and the fact that you’re committed to living/working around the I-70/I-55 corridors?? :(

WashU has a few good sports team. The rowing team won the Head of the Charles in the women’s 4 event, the womens crosscountry won nationals, and our womens volleyball won thirty games in a row. Just don’t expect baseball/football/basketball to be big here. There is more love for our internationally ranked acapella groups than football (4th in the world, for the record. Gotta love ((The Stereotypes)).)

BSchool is the butt of all WashU student jokes – it has the easiest grading system and easiest classes by a large margin. In terms of admissions, it’s roughly equal to all of the other schools (minus maybe Sam Fox). Apply where you want to major in and show admissions why you want to be in that school. You are allowed to switch schools whenever, wherever – the day I got in I emailed a dean and switched schools.
