Is it impossible? international applying UPenn Jerome Fisher M&T

I'm thinking ED M&T and make Wharton my secondary choice.

strengths: 4.0/4.0uw, norank but valedictorian in 9/10, and around 3rd in 11th; private school in US since 9th; decent leadership; with most ECs in finance area; venture capital firm intern 260hrs; not applying fa; MathI800+MathII800+Bio770; great teacher recs/employer rec; $1700 scholarship for a stock camp; Cornell summer college decent grade

weaknesses: asian international; SAT I, will retake in OCT (appx.2100~2300)

*that 50 enrollment freaks me out
*should i give it a shot??or should i try something easier like Cornell financial engineering?...the accept. rate for M&T is like 5%, im really concerned. idk where else to ask this question cuz there's not much info/discussion on M&T.
*does being a female help?

id like to appreciate anyone who gives advices

It certainly wouldn’t hurt to apply, but you need to show some interest in science/engineering. A high SAT score is also very important

astonmartinDBS,

you are right! actually I take all the science APs available in my school and have been getting A on all of them, and the intern firm is focused on biopharmaceutical and software industry. Does these help? i’m just not sure if i am good enough to compete in this applicant pool. otherwise i should devout my ED to easier but similar program, like Cornell Financial engineering.

thank you for your advice, im workin hard on SAT!!but i dont think i can make it to 2300+, because CR is extremely hard for me. Math should be 780+ and WR 730+, so far CR 700+ is likely.

i also have American Mensa membership. (because of WISC-IV Test)

does being an Asian hurt that much?..
concerned…im from Beijing btw.
oscillating between ED Cornell/M&T
please make some comments if you have any idea of admission to M&T, or you know anybody who got in,thanks!

About 1% are accepted into the program and without significantly high SAT scores, you don’t stand much of a chance.

that’s what i used to think of SATs, and the reason I’m concerned. but i guess there are no more than 1000 applicants every year, and few internationals even know this program. that’s why i might try it if i get 2250+.

but i saw posts saying they know some people with around 2200 getting into M&T.
doesn’t Penn value a lot on GPA?
