Is it just me or did A LOT of people fail the essays?

the FR were actually pretty easy in my opinion (as was the DBQ). I hate to sound like a "braggart", but I'm pretty confident that I scored a 5. And it seems like there will be a nice curve since you all say it was hard...so i thank you :)

I want to know how ETS thought #4 was a good idea for an essay.

I kinda rambled for like 2-3 sentences in number 5 and it really makes no sense or ties in with the prompt but i managed to close it out semi-decently. Do you think that will affect my grade a lot? I was so fried by that time that I just had to write something to get my brain going.

Most people don't know jack **** about "market revolution" and "New South". I know that I never saw those terms before.

I actually thought the FRQs were easy. The DBQ though, our class just went over nearly the exact topic the day before in a DBQ format so our whole room burst into laughter right after we flipped the page. I think I got a 5 though.

I was cramming and saw something to help for essay #3 in AMSCO last night, although I didn't talk about any inventions.

As for #4, I know I shouldn't have made an assumption, but I wasn't expecting them to make an essay on an obscure failed philosophy only pertinent to one region that was around for a few years in the late 19th century.

I almost cried when I saw the only two prompts available for the second essay. I still had enough strength to say that "This is Sparta!!!!!!"

Personally, I loved the DBQ, thought it was so easy. The first essay was iffy for me but the second was easy too..

I could have easily done essay #5 instead of #4, which makes it sting even more (although I knew beforehand that if I did #5 I'd probably get around at best a 6 on it, at least I was sure what that question was asking).

I did #3 and 4. They were pretty easy for me. Probably got 8 or 9 on DBQ, 5 or 6 on #3, and 7-8 on #4

^ I like your name boofreeresponse. Totally epitomizes the way I feel.

damn that test was so easy.. euro was so much harder last year and calc ab was way harder..

The essay topic for #4 though is in the title of a chapter of the AMSCO review book if anyone read that---still, it was strange that NOT A SINGLE ESSAY dealt specifically with the "Big 4 Wars" - Revolution, Civil War, WWI, and WWII. I mean, one of them sort of did kind of, but not really...I guess the AP is evolving since my teacher swore that the DBQ would be on something WWII or prior and it was on a "more recent" event

Meh, I still have a solid chance for a 5 even with conservative estimates on how I did on the MC and DBQ, so I'm not despairing quite yet. The online calculator gives me back between 114-128. (Assuming I got absolutely nothing for essay 4.)

how accurate are these grading scales that were posted on page 1 of this topic. it sounds too easy to make a 4 or 5

I noticed that the entire test had little to do with any wars or treaties..
Sorta made me mad!

Yea the calculator is good.
Im at around 130ish with conservative judgement so maybe ill get a 5..

I thought the deal was that if girls get feminism and literature questions, that we got war questions?

Sexist much?

The DBQ had everything to do with war.

One of the questions had to deal with the importance of an aspect of war(can't get too specific or I'll get my test canceled somehow).

I thought it was a pretty harmless joke.
