So this might just be an anomaly among my friends and people in my area, but it seems that all of the people I know who were admitted to both Harvard and Yale have been picking Yale consistently.

Does anyone else find this to be true for his/her area or group of friends?

The only other kid, besides my daughter, from our school who got into Harvard also got into Yale. Yale had originally been his first choice. He turned then down for Harvard last night.

but many of the yale-harvard people i personally know are picking harvard over yale. I do have one friend, however, that might pick princeton over harvard/yale… but I’m pretty sure she’s picking yale.

I’m picking Yale over Harvard. Even after attending Bulldog Days and Harvard’s Prefrosh weekend, I can’t recall personally meeting somebody who was planning to pick Harvard over Yale. However, I met many people who are planning to pick Y over H, including a couple friends of mine.

I’ve visited both and I feel that Yale has a more chill relaxed environment than Harvard.

I don’t even know anyone who has to choose. Those in my school that got into Harvard got rejected/waitlisted by Yale, and the one person who got into Yale got waitlisted by Harvard. xD

I liked yale a lot, chose harvard though. felt the people were more vibrant and ambitious, instead of the yale ‘laid back’ culture (in quotes because they work just as hard as harvard students). also liked that many people were doing science even though i don’t plan to only study science. got into HYPS. :-)

There’s a school for everyone. Not everyone likes the same things in a school. why does this matter to anyone? just pick the best school for “YOU”

As someone who’s been around College Confidential for far too long, it does seem that more cross-admits are choosing Yale this year than in the past.

Any idea what might be responsible for the shift? I don’t think the schools have actually changed that much!
