I know y'all are out there, Harvard&Yale admits! Thoughts on making the choice?

(Personally, I'm just relishing the fact that I get to say, "well, ACTUALLY" when I'm an Eli and some stuck-up Harvardian calls Y a safety school...)

YALE fo sho

I was sadly rejected by Yale SCEA but DEFINITELY YALE!!!

present. spending lots of time thinking about where to go, what to do… i’m leaning toward yale now but that’s mostly due to interviews, my gut, bad stereotypes about harvard, and good stereotypes about yale, none of which is necessarily worth anything. hopefully i have a better sense after visiting, but who knows?

Two days ago, I could never have dreamed about being in this position. I never expected to be admitted to both Harvard and Yale… I’m planning on going to both the admit weekends or whatever, and making my decision based partly on that.

Same here, km45. I never thought I would be in this position. Ever. I have P and S in the equation too. Right now I can only go by stereotypes… so I will be doing some visits. Oh, I wish I could attend everything at the same time XD. How do we choose?? Ahh, oh Yale :)

my thoughts exactly, lookbeyond!

I was admitted to Yale SCEA and then Harvard yesterday. Although I am naturally ecstatic about my acceptances, all I can think about is having to choose between the two.

I have no idea how I’m going to make my mind up?!

**** this is one heck of a decision we have to make.

Hey, me too! I’m leaning really strongly towards Yale, but I’m visiting them both at the end of next week.

Mmhmm, Harvard or Yale?

I might end up choosing Dartmouth.

wooo

YALEKATZ

STILL undecided and i’m now officially freaking out. This seems to be the theme of my life :(

That’s okay, my D is also undecided still, too. I think there are lots of people in this situation.

^^confused and EPM –

I empathize. Faced with the same final choices, my son didn’t pull the trigger (for Yale) until 11:30 PM on May 1 last year. It’s an embarrassment of riches, but that’s why it’s stressful: Either way you go, you have to relinquish an incredible school. But the up side is, with choices like H and Y, you really can’t lose. Make your lists, review them, then go with your gut. Since he made his decision, my son hasn’t looked back.

^^Confused, go with your gut and commit to Yale!

^^D just committed to Yale. Now we get to get on with Real Life.

Congratulations to your D and to you, EngProfMom!

There’s a recent thread over at Harvard called “You should not go to Harvard”, or something like that, that is very helpful for people to read.

S committed to Yale too. He hated Princeton and liked Harvard. But was in love with Yale. I’m glad this is over.
