<p>are the UNC essay topics really weird?</p>
<p>They seem almost childish and pointless such as the ("I heard a noise outside my bedroom door....)</p>
<p>so I will probably use one from my other college (#8) because it is much more substantial.</p>
<p>well i think they're pretty creative...and a lot more fun to write about than the usual retarded essay questions that dont make sense</p>
<p>I liked the UNC write-your-own-intro-to-a-novel option. It says you can use anything you want, so if you don't like any of those, make one up.</p>
<p>How did u guys approach the novel one? I am doing:</p>

<li>You are a novelist and have just begun to write your next book. Please complete the first paragraph (or page) of your novel using one of these first sentences or one of your own creation.
“What can you say when the world around you seems to be dying…”</li>
</ol>
<p>And I don't know if I should write what would be on one page of a novel, or whether to write it so the message is finished (like a mini-essay).</p>
