I was accepted to the U of M Twin Cities. My cumulative GPA before second semester of my senior year was a 3.6. Second semester, my parents got divorced and it had a hugely negative effect on every aspect of my life and I really dropped the ball on school, ending the year with a 2.8 GPA for second semester. Obviously this is a huge drop from my previous GPA. The biggest issue is that I earned a D in my Statistics class, otherwise I had one C and the rest were Bs. Is it likely that my admission will be rescinded?
While rescinding is unlikely, it would be best to be proactive and call admissions with your situation and explanation.
