Well, this happened some time ago, but I recently made another doctor's visit and was reminded of what happened. I'm just wondering if this is a normal thing that doctors do... As you know, on the physical exam sheet, there's a list of body parts next to which is a field where doctors are supposed to to note if a particular body part is normal, etc. Well, I noticed that "genitalia" was listed on there, so i'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but my doctor actually told me to unzip my pants and then he felt my balls and then felt the tip of my *****. I've had physical exams before, but not with the same doctor, and they usually just checked it off as OK without even looking (i've had female doctors before, so maybe that's why). So, have your doctors actually looked down there when you went for a physical exam?

That's normal. How old are you? When you're younger, they generally don't worry about that area unless you say it hurts or it has changed down there. But, when you get older, sexual/genital health becomes increasingly important.

Normal. It's a requirement every year for me, since I'm in the athletics program. It's important and necessary to check your health and physical components of your body once in a while to ensure that you are able and well for the school year.

Ahahahaha! Yeah it's normal...he's probably checking your testicles for a hernia.

hahaha, too pansy to say it kc? :p

kchen (12:18:49): "think about it this way: male doctor touching female patient"

That's good to hear, you guys. thanks

Its so normal that if yours doesn't worry about that part of your body you should consider another doctor that won't let you die of some STD.

my doctor was a 40ish woman. crap.

Yes in fact it's NOT ok for a doctor not to do it

Yup, doctors even do it to females. I should know, lol.

My doctor was a fresh out of med school female and she was hot and had to do that to me...

Your doctor most likely was also checking for testicular cancer.

"Testicular cancer occurs most often in men between the ages of 20 and 39, and is the most common form of cancer in men between the ages of 15 and 34."
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Sites-Types/testicular

i agree with over30: checking for cancer. or, if he made you cough at the same time, he was checking to see if you had a hernia. yes, that is one (and the most common) way that they check for a hernia when doing a sports physical.

Oh man don't get a hot chick who gives you the physical. It will embarrass you like no other once you drop em.

You should never be afraid to ask a doctor, nurse, dentist or any other medical staff what they are doing or why they are doing it, especially if you are unfamiliar with an examination procedure.

maybe b/c your's is small legendofmax.
