Is it okay to start my common app now?

I was thinking of starting my common app now but I don't want to make any mistakes. With the common app, can I edit information as I wish (in parts), or do you have to fill in all your information at once? What are the pros and cons to starting the common app this early?

Yep you can go back and edit stuff if you find that you make a mistake. You can also save what you have and then come back and fill more info out later. I don’t see any harm in filling out all basic stuff (info about your family, phone number, address) right now. It’ll just mean less annoying stuff you have to do later on.

Start early with the basic stuff, but leave time to refine your essays and other written responses. Most colleges won’t start reviewing any applications until September, and you may not be able to get your guidance counselor to do their submittal until September anyway.
