Hi! Is it okay if I email a college and ask them if there are any students currently enrolled from my country? And ask them to get me in touch with them, so I can ask them about their experiences at that college? Thanks!
You could email them and ask, however they might not be permitted to give out students’ contact information due to privacy regulations.
An alternative approach might be to find an alumni or current student group for that college on Facebook, etc and ask there. Also check to see if the school has a forum on College Confidential.
The international student office on campus will have a list of current students and recent alumni who are willing to communicate with potential students. My recommendation would be to contact that office first.
There’s no harm in asking. Your mileage may vary depending on the college, some may already have programs set up for this purpose. Oftentimes there is a center for international students at the college that has peer mentors and the like before they matricutlate
Absolutely either find or ask about a social media site where you could find that info.
You can definitely ask! I’ve had prospective students email me before who got my contact info (school email address) from either admissions or one of the departments I’m involved in on campus (typically the music department) and I’m always happy to respond back.
