Is it pointless to sit and study SAT vocabulary for hours?

This is a good point. Studying vocabulary does help with reading speed and comprehension, and that makes reading for fun more fun. I like study of word roots rather than memorizing word lists.

Put it this way, I missed 10 SC the first time I took the SAT. I looked at the Sparknotes 1000 and around 5 other hit lists and only missed 1 the next time I took it. It’s definitely worth it because if you really work at LEARNING, not memorizing those words, you’ll remember them for the rest of your life.

why do I need these words for the rest of my life ?I am wondering what is the fastest way to forget them after the test ;]
